CTA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since 1922, our stewardship of nearly 40 miles of trails includes regular maintenance and larger projects to improve trail features. Your generous donations help us put volunteers on the trails, train safety guides, and keep our trails well-maintained for generations to come.

Each year, CTA hosts special CTA Work Weekends where volunteers spend a day or two repairing and maintaining our beloved trials. CTA provides volunteers food and lodging for their time and service. You can support a volunteer for a CTA Work Weekend by becoming a Supporting Member.

CTA Endowment

Interested in make lasting change?

Consider including the CTA Endowment in your will.

The CTA Endowment started in 2010 when Jack Harrington left a bequest of $94,000 to the CTA. The fund is professionally managed, and distributions cover operating deficits and capital projects.  Each year, the CTA permits us to spend up to 4% of the fund balance, averaged over the previous 20 quarters. The first priority is covering any operating deficits. The remainder is available for capital projects and purchasing tools and supplies.

The Endowment is an important feature of the CTA. As it grows, it will support an increasing number of volunteers and major projects that require professional help.
